A Cooling Ritual for Pitta Season…
Hello gorgeous ladies!!
As the days become warmer and life begins to speed up, our inner fire can sometimes burn a little too brightly.
Perhaps you've noticed yourself feeling more irritable, overwhelmed, inflamed, impatient, or simply too full of doing.
In Ayurveda, this is often a sign that Pitta – our fire and transformation energy – has become a little overheated.
One of my favourite ways to soothe excess heat is through simple daily rituals, and this Rose & Hibiscus Tea has become a beautiful companion during summer.
Iced Rose & Hibiscus Tea to Soothe Pitta…
You'll need:
• 1 tsp dried rose petals
• 1 tsp dried hibiscus petals
• Optional: ½ tsp fennel seeds for extra cooling
• 2 cups water
• A little honey (optional)
Ice
Method:
Bring the water to a gentle boil and add the herbs. Simmer for around 5 minutes, then remove from the heat and allow to steep for another 5 minutes. Strain and enjoy chilled with ice.
Why I love it:
Cools excess heat in the body and mind.
Supports digestion and reduces acidity.
Encourages clear, radiant skin.
Invites emotional balance and softness.
Creates a gentle pause in the day.
I love drinking this in the afternoon, perhaps sitting in the garden for ten minutes, letting the nervous system soften and remembering that not everything needs to be rushed.
Sometimes our deepest medicine isn't found in doing more.
Sometimes it is found in a warm cup held between our hands, a conscious breath, and the permission to simply be.
May this tea become a small ritual of cooling, softening, and returning to yourself.
With love,
Andrea xx
