Moonday Wisdom ~ When Your Inner Fire Becomes Too Much…

Today I want to talk about fire.

Not the kind that burns in the hearth or shines in the sky, but the fire we carry within ourselves.

In Ayurveda, this is known as Pitta Dosha – the energy of transformation.

Pitta is our inner sun.

She gives us courage to speak our truth, clarity to know what matters, passion to create beautiful things, and the capacity to take action in the world.

She is sovereignty.

She is the woman who knows herself and trusts herself.

And yet…

Many of us have become incredibly good at living from our fire.

We keep going.

We care for everyone.

We hold ourselves to impossible standards.

We push through exhaustion.

We tell ourselves we'll rest later.

Until one day our body begins to whisper:

"I'm hot."

"I'm tired."

"I'm overwhelmed."

"I can't keep carrying everything."

Burnout is often accumulated fire.

It is the result of being switched on for too long.

Sometimes it shows up physically:

Hot flushes

Headaches

Acid reflux

Inflammation

Difficulty sleeping

Feeling exhausted yet wired

Sometimes it shows up emotionally:

Irritability

Impatience

Resentment

Perfectionism

Feeling constantly "on"

Becoming easily overwhelmed or critical

And sometimes it arrives quietly…

As losing your sparkle.

As forgetting pleasure.

As feeling disconnected from yourself.

The beautiful wisdom of Summer Solstice is this:

Even the sun, at the height of its power, begins its descent.

Nature understands something we often forget.

Nothing is meant to remain at full intensity forever.

There is wisdom in softening.

There is wisdom in pausing.

There is wisdom in receiving.

The sovereign woman knows when to tend her fire.

She understands that radiance does not come from burning brighter and brighter.

Radiance comes from nourishment.

From saying no.

From taking a nap.

From eating foods that cool and replenish.

From sitting quietly in the garden.

From drinking rose tea.

From resting with your hand on your belly and remembering that your worth is not measured by your productivity.

This week I invite you to ask yourself:

Where has my fire become too intense?

Where am I pushing instead of receiving?

What would soften if I gave myself permission to pause?

What might happen if my radiance came from nourishment rather than striving?

A gentle practice for today:

Place one hand on your belly.

One hand on your heart.

Take a slow breath.

And whisper softly:

I honour my fire, but I do not allow it to consume me.

I soften.

I receive.

I rest.

I glow gently from within.

May this Moonday be a return to your softness, your sovereignty, and the quiet glow of your inner light.

With love,

Andrea xx
