The Full Buck Moon & Living a Juicy Life…

Return to Radiance Through Rasa…

There is something beautiful about July's Full Buck Moon.

Named after the stag whose antlers are fully regrown and maturing, the Buck Moon has long been associated with growth, vitality, abundance and becoming.

Nature is in her fullness. The hedgerows are abundant. Gardens are overflowing. Roses are blooming. The evenings are long and golden. And yet, in the midst of this fullness, many women are feeling anything but abundant.

Many are tired. Overextended. Emotionally depleted. Holding everyone else whilst quietly running on empty.

In Ayurveda, this is often a sign that our Rasa has become depleted.

What is Rasa?

Rasa is our first tissue and means juice, essence, flavour and inner nectar.

Rasa is nourishment. It is our ability to receive life.

It is the feeling of being emotionally hydrated rather than dried out.

When our Rasa is abundant, we often feel:

Soft and open-hearted.
Present and emotionally resilient.
Nourished and inspired.
Connected to beauty and pleasure.
More patient and less reactive.
Creative and alive.
Able to enjoy life rather than simply survive it.

When Rasa becomes depleted, life can begin to feel dry.

We may still be doing all the things.

But the sweetness has gone.

The sparkle feels dimmed.

We are functioning but not flourishing.

The Full Buck Moon As An Invitation

The Buck Moon arrives as a beautiful reminder that growth is not only about doing more.

The stag does not force his antlers into being.

Nature grows through nourishment.

Through rhythm.

Through receiving what is needed.

This moon invites us to ask:

What if I stopped measuring my life by productivity and began measuring it by nourishment?

What if success was not about how much we achieved?

What if success was how deeply we lived?

How present we felt.

How often we laughed.

How much beauty we allowed ourselves to receive.

How nourished we felt in our own bodies.

What Does It Mean To Live A Juicy Life?

A juicy life is not necessarily a bigger life.

It is a more fully lived life.

A life with flavour.

A life with pauses.

A life where we can actually taste our tea.

Feel the warmth of the evening sun.

Notice the fragrance of roses.

Rest without guilt.

Cry when we need to.

Laugh until our belly aches.

Watch the moon rise.

Walk slowly through the garden.

Eat food that truly nourishes us.

A juicy life is one where we are not constantly abandoning ourselves.

It is a life where we become receptive again.

Where we soften enough to receive beauty.

Where we allow ourselves moments that have no purpose other than nourishment.

Building Rasa This Full Moon

As we journey into The Nectar Month, perhaps this Full Buck Moon is asking us not to push harder but to receive more deeply.

Could you:

Drink your tea slowly from your favourite cup?

Watch the moon rise?

Place fresh flowers on your table?

Take an evening walk?

Spend time near water?

Read a few pages of a beautiful book?

Rest before you are exhausted?

Create something simply because it brings you joy?

These moments may seem small.

But they are not insignificant.

They are nourishment.

They are the sweetness of life.

They are Rasa.

Full Buck Moon Reflection

Under this moon, take a few moments to journal:

What has become dry in my life?

Where have I been surviving rather than truly living?

What brings me a feeling of softness and aliveness?

What simple pleasures have I forgotten?

What would a more juicy, nourishing life look like?

How can I become more receptive to beauty this month?

A Blessing For The Full Buck Moon

May I soften the heat of striving.

May I remember that nourishment is sacred.

May I create a life that feels spacious, beautiful and deeply alive.

May I notice the sweetness that already surrounds me.

May I tend my inner nectar with tenderness.

May I grow like the stag's antlers—steadily, naturally and in my own perfect rhythm.

May I return to radiance.

May I return to Rasa.
The Full Buck Moon reminds us that we are not here simply to get through life.

We are here to taste it.
To feel it.
To savour it.

To live a beautifully juicy life.

Shared with all my love.
