The New Moon in Cancer & The Wise Woman…

Returning Home to Your Inner Nectar…

The moon has disappeared from view. Nature has exhaled. Everything feels quieter. Softer. More inward.

And maybe this is exactly what many of us need. Because whilst summer invites us into brightness and movement, the New Moon reminds us that even in the height of the season, there must still be moments of retreat.

Moments to rest. Moments to listen. Moments to simply be.

This New Moon arrives in the nurturing waters of Cancer, the sign of home, belonging, emotional wisdom and mothering ourselves with tenderness.

And it arrives beautifully within our July theme:

The Nectar Month – Return to Radiance Through Rasa.

The Wise Woman Knows. Within every woman lives the Wise Woman. She is soft and steady. She trusts rhythm.

She understands that life is cyclical. She knows that we cannot bloom constantly. She knows that radiance is not created through striving. It is cultivated through nourishment.

She understands something our modern world often forgets:

Sometimes doing less is the medicine.

Sometimes stillness is productive.

Sometimes retreat is sacred.

Sometimes the most nourishing thing we can do is come home to ourselves.

What Does Home Feel Like?

Cancer is often associated with home. But home is not always a place. Sometimes home is a feeling. A deep exhale.

A softening in the belly. A sense of safety within ourselves. A moment where we no longer need to prove, perform or push.

Perhaps this New Moon is inviting you to ask:

When do I feel most like myself?

What makes me feel safe, nourished and held?

Where have I abandoned my own needs?

How can I become a safe place to land within myself?

Returning to Rasa…

In Ayurveda, Rasa means juice, essence, flavour and inner nectar. It is the nourishment that feeds every cell of our body.

It is our ability to receive life. It is our emotional hydration.

When Rasa is abundant, we often feel:

Present and receptive

Soft and emotionally nourished

Creative and inspired

Connected to beauty and pleasure

Grounded and patient

Deeply alive

When Rasa becomes depleted, life can begin to feel dry.

We continue functioning. We continue giving. But the sweetness has gone.

The New Moon in Cancer asks us to return to the sweetness.

To become receptive again.

To remember that we are allowed to receive care as well as offer it.

The New Moon Cocoon…

This moon is not asking you to become more productive.

She is asking you to become more present.

To create space.

To retreat for a while.

To make your tea.

To light your candle.

To put down your phone.

To wrap yourself in a blanket.

To sit quietly and listen.

Because beneath the noise there is wisdom.

And the Wise Woman within you has been waiting patiently to be heard.

A New Moon Ritual…

Tonight, create a little Moon Cocoon.

Light a candle.

Make yourself a cup of rose tea.

Place one hand upon your heart and one upon your belly.

Take three slow breaths.

Imagine a soft rose-gold moon resting within your heart.

A reservoir of nectar.

A quiet sanctuary that belongs only to you.

Stay here for a few moments.

There is nowhere else you need to be.

Reflections for the Wise Woman

What feels nourishing to my soul right now?

What am I longing for more of?

What do I need less of?

Where have I been abandoning myself?

What simple pleasures would make my life feel more juicy?

How can I mother myself with tenderness?

What would it feel like to trust my own rhythms?

What would it feel like to become my own safe place to land?

A New Moon Intention…

Rather than making a list of things to achieve, perhaps choose a feeling to cultivate this month.

Maybe it is:

Softness. Ease. Beauty. Pleasure. Trust. Nourishment. Belonging.

Then ask yourself:

What can I do this month that would help me embody this feeling?

Perhaps the answer is not another thing to do. Perhaps it is permission. Permission to rest. Permission to slow down.

Permission to receive. Permission to choose yourself and return to your inner nectar.

With love & Wild Devotion,

Andrea xx
